What is Bite Baba?
Bite Baba is a direct-ordering and operations tool for small Indian food businesses. Restaurant Mode gives you a QR menu, live orders, billing, and reports. Store Mode gives food stores a public catalogue plus inventory, purchasing, counter sales, billing, returns, and reports. Customers use their phone browser — there is no customer app.
Do customers need an app or login?
No. Customers scan a QR code or open your Bite Baba link and order in the browser. Nothing to download and no customer account.
Restaurant & Store
What is the difference between Restaurant and Store?
They are two separate products. Restaurant Mode is for dine-in, pickup, and delivery food service: QR menus, table ordering, a live order board, and restaurant billing. Store Mode is for food retail: grocery and departmental food stores, packaged-food shops, sweet shops, and bakeries that sell as a store. One owner account is one business. You choose Restaurant or Store during onboarding, and that choice is permanent.
Plans & pricing
Is Free a trial?
No. Free is a permanent plan, not a trial. It does not expire, and it does not need a card.
What happens when Plus or Pro expires?
Paid-only facilities become unavailable and the business keeps running on Free capabilities. Data, settings, and staff records are preserved. You have a one-calendar-month renewal window to resubscribe and regain the previous paid-tier facilities. After that window, the business still remains on Free and can upgrade again later. Bite Baba does not automatically charge a stored payment method for renewal.
What is available on Free?
Free includes your public QR menu or store catalogue, direct orders, Simple Billing, customers, business hours, and a three-month report window. Restaurant Free allows 50 active menu items. Store Free allows 100 active products and fixed combos. Free has no staff accounts, no public hero-banner customisation, no Store CSV report export, and no Bite Baba GST invoice-generation workflow.
Orders & payments
Does Bite Baba take commission?
No. Bite Baba is not a marketplace and does not take a cut of your orders. Membership is a flat per-business charge for Plus and Pro. Free stays free.
Does Bite Baba collect customer payments online?
No. There is no payment gateway and no online checkout that collects money for you. You record cash, UPI, card, or mixed payments yourself in Bite Baba.
GST & billing
Does Bite Baba provide GST billing?
Bite Baba includes Simple Billing on every plan. Free does not include the Bite Baba GST invoice-generation workflow; Plus and Pro do. Simple Bills are not tax invoices. Bite Baba does not file GST returns, is not a complete tax or accounting platform, and is not described as GST-compliant or government-approved software.
Staff & business limits
Can staff use Bite Baba?
Yes on Plus and Pro. Free has no staff accounts. Plus allows up to 5 staff. Pro allows up to 15. Restaurant staff are order-counter only. Store staff can be given specific operational permissions. Staff cannot manage the subscription or owner settings.
Can one owner run multiple businesses?
No. One owner account owns exactly one business — Restaurant or Store, never both, and never multiple branches.
WhatsApp & delivery
How does WhatsApp work?
In Restaurant Mode, pickup and delivery orders are saved in Bite Baba first, then can continue through WhatsApp with a ready-made message. Owners can also share eligible bills through WhatsApp from the dashboard. This is a hand-off, not an automated WhatsApp bot, and Bite Baba does not currently market automatic WhatsApp sending.
Does Bite Baba provide delivery riders?
No. Bite Baba does not run a delivery fleet or marketplace logistics. Pickup and delivery are order types that you fulfil yourself.
